One of the jurors in the Michael Dunn murder trial came forward in an interview with Nightline Tuesday night, marking the first interview from any of the jurors in the case. She revealed that by the end of the deliberation they were deadlocked at 9-3 to convict him of first-degree murder. Dunn was found guilty of 3 counts of attempted second-degree murder (and will likely serve more than 60 years on those charges alone), but there was a hung jury on the charge of first-degree murder for the killing of 17 year old Jordan Davis.
Juror, as she was known, told ABC News’ Byron Pitts that it was initially 10-2 in favor of conviction on that murder charge, but by the end of deliberations one more juror had doubts, making it 9-3. She said the three holdouts believed that regardless of the actual danger, Dunn believed he was in danger of great bodily injury or death (the legal standard requires having a “reasonable” belief).
She also said there was a lot of shouting during the three days of deliberations, with profanities flying around the room. She also admitted that she personally believes Dunn got away with murder.

Michael Dunn Found Guilty In Loud Music Trial
The jurors determining the fate of a white Florida man accused of killing an unarmed black teenager over an argument springing from that teen’s alleged refusal to turn down loud music returned a verdict on today. They found the accused, Michael Dunn, guilty of 4 charges (three being attempted second-degree murder) and hung on the 5th charge, first-degree murder.
Dunn insisted that he acted in self-defense when he fired a gun at four teens in an SUV in Jacksonville, Florida in 2012. Dunn was charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of first-degree murder of one of those teens, 17-year-old Jordan Davis.
The racial tensions that have arisen as the result of this case have forced Duval County law enforcement to put in place a “comprehensive public safety plan” designed to cope with the potential for violence the verdict in this case could inspire.
Some have linked this case to the case against George Zimmerman for the murder of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, another unarmed black teenager killed by an armed white Hispanic man. However, there were no incidents of mass violence as a result of Zimmerman having been acquitted in that case in the summer of 2013.

Sports Anchor Blasts Michael Sam Critics, Calls Out Conservative Hypocrisy
Michael Sam coming out of the closet actually may have been a setback for his potential NFL career, according to some NFL officials who spoke anonymously to Sports Illustrated. On Monday night, WFAA sports anchor Dale Hansen stood up for Sam in a big way with a speech that called out not just the NFL’s fluctuating moralism, but the hypocrisy of those who profess to be for small government.
Hansen mocked the idea that having a gay player in the locker room would somehow make people uncomfortable, when, quite frankly, people with infinitely more questionable moral values still walk among them.
“You beat a woman and drag her down a flight of stairs, pulling her hair out by the roots? You’re the fourth guy taken in the NFL draft. You kill people while driving drunk? That guy’s welcome. Players caught in hotel rooms with illegal drugs and prostitutes, we know they’re welcome! Players accused of rape and pay the women to go away, you lie to police, try to cover up a murder, we’re comfortable with that. You love another man? Well, now you’ve gone too far."
He went on to decry the hypocrisy of people who “say government should stay out of our lives, but then want government in our bedrooms,” and reminded viewers that once upon a time, people used to think black players would make people uncomfortable.
