On Valentine’s Day Friday night, CNN’s evening slate of shows had a disastrous night, failing to rate above 66K viewers in the key 25-54 demo from 5-10pm ET. The network was in 4th place across the board during those hours with Anderson Cooper 360 and Piers Morgan Live both at 66K in the demo. Erin Burnett OutFront at 7pm drew just 49K in the demo.
There was a marked change at 10pm for CNN, when a rerun of Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown had 130K in the demo. Another episode at 11pm did even better with 146K. In total viewers, Anderson Cooper’s 8pm hour was the highest-rated CNN show of the night with 330K.

Comcast Reportedly Making Bid to Acquire Time Warner Cable
Comcast is planning a bid to acquire competitor Time Warner Cable that will be announced Thursday morning. If the merger goes through, it will mean a union between the top two cable companies in the country.
The deal is reportedly going to be for roughly $44 million, paying about $159 a share. Charter Communications, a smaller cable company, had also been making a bid for Time Warner.
Now the only question is if the merger will actually go through without the government stepping in to block it.

Monday Cable Ratings: O'Reilly Tops 4.2M Viewers with Obama Interview
The continuation of Bill O’Reilly’s pre-Super Bowl interview with President Barack Obama drew a strong 626K viewers in the 25-54 demo and 4.204M total viewers to Fox’s The O’Reilly Factor, making it the most-watched show on cable news Monday night.
The strong lead-in did not help Fox’s The Kelly File as much as one would have expected, especially in the demo. The Rachel Maddow Show was #1 in the demo at 9pm with 472K, ahead of Megyn Kelly with 372K. Kelly did come out ahead in total viewers with 2.686M to Maddow’s 1.367M.
